The recent revision of the Strategic Master Plan (Plano Diretor estratégico - PDE) of the city of São Paulo offers a great amount of tools for control and induction of urban development. Given the prevailing mobility crisis, the renewed Master Plan defines that the systems of mass transportation must articulate axes that structure the transformation of the urban areas, in which the occupation with diferent uses will be encouraged. However, it is known that the city grew with its main roads occupying valley bottoms and floodplains, resulting in frequent flooding throughout the entire city. The increase of density in the axes situated in such conditions requires the development of new forms of urban design, that are capable of articulate infrastructures (mobility and drainage) to social and enviromental actions. In this range, inserts itself the research here proposed, applied in the watershed of Lajeado stream, São Paulo's east side. From this particular area, the proposal aims to integrate actions of a variety of disciplines (social, enviromental and infrestrutural) through urban design. The experimental activity of design is upheld by a related literature, and is foreseen an intership at the research center in Germany for the broadening of the referential bases. Among other works conducted by the supervisor, this study of case may contribute for the development of interdisciplinary methods of action in order to lead plans and projects in regions of the city with similar characteristics.
