Abstract

This is a research project to be developed under the research program "The history of teaching in teacher training institutions in Brazil - 1827-2011", which follows the research project with the same name, which has mainly aimed to identify, collect, select, organize, analyze and interpret aspects of teaching as a discipline and field of knowledge in teacher training institutions in Brazil between 1827 and 2011. in this sense, this project has as main objective to find, identify, collect, select, organize and analyze composing aspects of teaching discipline or knowledge of bodies properly didactic, in the course of IE teacher training "Cardoso de Almeida" (1953-1975), through the textbooks that would been studied by teachers in initial training. This formulation originates from the belief that, studies that seek to systematize and analyze aspects of the history of the disciplines in various teacher training institutions in Brazil contribute to the history of these disciplines in Brazil, for a history of teacher education in Brazil and in the limit, contribute to the history of education in Brazil. Having started its activities for teacher training in 1911, then Normal Primary School of Botucatu started to keep a Normal Course in 1916; in 1953, turned training course for teachers of the Institute of Education - IE; in 1976, State School of First and High School. And then it was possible to draw up the following question: What knowledge taken as properly didactics were constituting the teacher training course subjects in the "Cardoso de Almeida," that is, making proper school through the disciplines, among them the didactics, in the course of teacher training, between 1953 and 1975, during which that institution now has its Institute of Education? Hence the formulation of this undergraduate research project, historical and documentary, the sources, based on the location of procedures, identification, meeting, selection, organization and analysis of the documentary corpus, namely textbooks that have been studied by teachers in initial training.
