Abstract

Over the three last decades, there has been a constant growth of many Brazilian cities. In this process, the land use planning was little related to these cities transportation system, which has led to worrying mobility rates. Urban mobility policies were also injured by bad public management and outdated master plans. In the attempt to attend the growing number of cars, lots of investments on works for motorized transport, putting on the background cycle paths and sidewalks projects. This project will deal with the bus scheduling problem integrated to the bicycle use, willing to enable/encourage the use of the last mentioned. An algorithm will be implemented in C, which will solve the bus scheduling problem along with the bike system. The algorithm data will be obtained from OpenStreetMap and from the Origem-Destino research of 2011.The results will be compared to the current scenario and validated with the bus transport company and Department of Transportation. This study can be classified as "applied research" by the nature, "exploratory research" by the goals and "experimental research" by the procedures, besides the qualitative and quantitative approaches.
