Abstract

Currently, Opilioacaridae species of Old World and Neothyridae do not have enough useful descriptions for proper identification or phylogenetic studies. For this, suitable redescriptions become necessary. Despite the age of publication of such species, there are no specialists reviewing this type material even being available in the collections of European institutions. The types will be analyzed using light microscope equipped with phase contrast, and scanning electron microscope. The morphological analyzes will be made from features present in gnatosoma, idiosoma and legs; in addition to setae present throughout the body and genital structures. Due to the conditions of the material type, shape analysis of the specimens and the possibility of obtaining not-type material, the internship is a period of one year. (AU)
