Abstract

In this project we are going to analyse the relation between the Museum of Art of São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand - MASP and the city of São Paulo. It will be done contextualizing the history of building at the Paulista Avenue and the history of the city. This study will be done by the idetificantion of the uses of the internal and external exhibitions spaces of the museum. We will check the different visions of the city of São Paulo presented in four key exhibitions: "The hand of Brazilian people" (1969), "GSP'76 - Great São Paulo" (1976), " From inside out / From outside in" (2009-2010) and the "Form inside and from outside" (2011), regarding the impact and turne in the organization of the museum. In order to do so, it will also be neceseri to consider the changes in the trusteeship of exhibitions what meant changes both in content and in form of the exhibitions. Also reflects the changes undergone by the institution. (AU)
