Abstract

To evaluate the effects of corn DDGS inclusion and soybean meal replacement on digestive enzymes of Piaractus mesopotamucus intestine, fish with 21 grams of mean weight were stocked in 20 cubic aquariums (130L) at density of 15 fish aquarium-1 and feeding test diets for 100 days. Due to compound the treatments were formulated five diets with equal protein and energy content and increasing DDGS levels (0, 10, 20, 30 e 40%). Each aquarium was considered as an experimental unity, in a completely randomized design (five treatments and four replicates). At the end of the trial, all fish were euthanized, weighted and gutted. Intestines from three fish per aquarium were collected and divided in three segments: anterior, medium and posterior. Samples were frozen in liquid nitrogen and stored at -80°C to future analysis. The activity of total protease, ± amylase, lipase, trypsin and chymotrypsin will be determinate. Results will be expressed in U/mg of protein and data will be submitted to one-way ANOVA statistical analyses. Significant differences will be evaluated by Linear Regression at 5% of probability. After getting results will be possible obtain a better understanding about corn DDGS metabolism by fish organism, through correlation of digestive enzymes activities and fish growth performance.
