Abstract

The aim of this PhD work is to analyze quantitatively the environmental effects of clusters in galaxies, emphasizing the ram-pressure acting on the cold gas in galaxies as they move in clusters and the feedback from active galactic nuclei. These effects have an impact on galaxy stellar evolution, contribute to the metal enrichment of the intracluster medium and keep intracluster gas hot in the cluster core. A theoretical and numerical approach will be taken, using hydrodynamic N-body simulations where physical processes that affect the gas are also taken into account such as, for example, star formation, supernova explosions and chemical enrichment. From the observational point of view, we will analyse the spectral properties of cluster galaxies using information from wide and narrow bands in the optical/IR. For this, it will be used the SDSS survey data and J-PAS (as soon as it is available). (AU)
