Abstract

The maternal perception of the experience of living with a hospitalized baby in the UTIN is determined by a number of factors: the baby, the mother, the relationship with the health team and the network of available social support. Related to the baby are the conditions associated with gestational age, birth weight and presence or absence of comorbid conditions that will define the treatment he dispensed as well as the length of stay. While factors related ace mothers are the back stories of abortions, positive or negative experiences, his or other people close to the prematurity, the baby's position in the family, among others. Health staff-related factors are established interaction with parents, the host and the accuracy of the information provided. Social support has been considered a protective factor in the context of premature birth, resulting in gains for the mother-infant interaction. This research aims to: describe the perception of mothers of premature babies admitted to a UTIN has on your health, on two occasions, shortly after admission and three to five weeks later. birth and condition of their babies; identify which baby factors, the mother and the health team influence the maternal perception of the baby's condition; describe the perception that mothers have in your support network and compare the perception of baby condition of mothers considering a group of mothers with good support network and a group of mothers with little support network. Will participate twenty mothers who have just given birth to babies who required immediate admission to the UTIN. At the consequent hospitalization of the baby in the UTIN, mothers will respond to the "Protocol for the evaluation of maternal perception about the baby's condition admitted to the UTIN immediately after hospitalization." Three to five weeks after admission baby mothers answer "Protocol for assessing maternal perception about the baby's condition admitted to the UTIN three to five weeks after hospitalization" and Scale of Social Support. Data will be collected on the premises of the hospital. The results coming from the protocols will be organized in tables for later read-back of the results. It provided a greater number of mothers at first since there is no provision for babies hospital stay. The results in the Social Support Scale, two groups will be organized: one with mothers with perception of good support network and one with mothers perception deficit support network. Comparisons will be conducted in the context of maternal experiences of baby hospitalization, using the test t of Student.
