Abstract This research project aims to contribute to the building of a database on the fiscal resources available to Brazilian states. The database is based on the data published by the National Treasury on revenues and expenses of 27 states from 1986 to 2013. The purpose of this scientific research is to study the fiscal capacity of states measured by tax collection effort, the level of transfers received by states from the federal government and the extent to which states issue debt. The output of this scientific research will contribute to CEPESP`s database of the fiscal policies of Brazilian states. (AU) | |
