Abstract

Following Jacques Lacan's theory of discourses, elaborated in The Seminar, Book 17: The Other Side of Psychoanalysis (1969-1970), we intend to investigate what we understand about the political appropriation that resulted from social movements that happened in Brazil, most notably in June 2013. We will investigate, in this scenario, how the rhetoric of the movements could be thought within the theory of discourses - master, university, hysterical and analyst -, thus attempting to apprehend them, either as a mirror of established political ideologies, or as a vector of an alternative proposal to the existing order, which would point to a possibility of a discursive turn. We will work in this way to achieve our main objective: 1) we discuss psychoanalytic concepts that allow us to sustain and advance our proposal, especially Freudian and Lacanian elaborations on the identification and social ties; 2) we develop the analysis of discourses' structures, in order to apprehend how social ties are engendered or how the jouissance is organized as a means to establish social ties; 3) we try to identify structural and discursive elements of social movements in Brazil, thinking them as 'symptom of the social field'; and finally, we want 4) to understand and report the configuration of resulting political appropriations. We wish to emphasize how necessary and emerging our topic displays itself, since the events we wish to analyze cross the discursivity realm of the subjects - including collective ones -, thus establishing different investigative fields; a fact which necessarily implies that this research must be constituted in a transdiciplinary way - considering psychoanalysis, political philosophy and social sciences - by a qualitative, bibliographical and exploratory research.
