Abstract

Running Scientific Workflows have been part of the daily life of scientists from several areas, including biology, chemistry, mechanic, and others. Workflow Management Systems allow modeling, execution, and monitoring of workflows without worrying about computational resources management. Several scheduling algorithms that consider restrictions as time, cost, and budget are available in the literature. However, there is still a need for considering new restrictions as security and reliability. The purpose of this project is to investigate what workflow simulators offer subsidies for the development of scheduling algorithms with security and reliability restrictions. Additionally, it intends to implement a scheduling algorithm for evaluating the adaptability of workflow simulator to this approach. Therefore, new directions that will contribute to a Ph.D. project about scheduling of workflows are expected.
