Abstract Introduction: Regular activity life has shown benefic effects on quality of life and functional capacity in patients with Heart Failure, regardless ejection fraction value. The reasons of this improve is the exercise promotion of peripheral effects: arterial vasodilation, ventricular preload reduction and improve of autonomic modulation. There is controversy about the mechanisms implicated in this improvement promoted by physical activity. We have formulated the hypothesis that sedentary individuals with heart failure and reduced LVEF present worse autonomic response then active ones. Objectives: To compare cardiac autonomic modulation in patients with sedentary and active behaviors and systolic heart failure. Methods: Prospective cross-sectional study in patients with CHF with LVEF lower than 50%. Two groups will be composed: sedentary and non sedentary. This division will be based on application of the IPAQ questionnaire. We will conduct clinical evaluation and cardiac autonomic modulation measures. The life quality will be measured through the SF-36 questionnaire. Simple T test to compare the groups, and simple linear regression to compare variables within the same group. Expected Result: We expect to find correlation between cardiac autonomic dysfunction, sedentary behavior and worsening in life quality. | |
