Abstract

The great destruction of Brazilian forests have caused habitat fragmentation and consequently the extinction of many species. That way, becomes necessary the adoption of strategies for the ex situ conservation of native tree species, such that the genetic variability of populations is maintained. The aroeira (Myracrodruon urundeuva) is on the list of endangered species due to its high economic value and the destruction of habitats where it occurs. Specie considered dioica with cross-pollination performed mainly by bees. The objective of this work is to quantify the sex ratio, the survival and the genetic variation of the diameter at breast height (DBH), on 19 test progenies of Myracrodruon urundeuva from 12 distinct populations originating three biomes (Caatinga, Cerrado and Atlantic Forest), aiming at providing subsidies to turn them into orchards seeds per seedlings based on the selection of DAP and effective size, involving male and female flowering individuals. Estimates of variance components and genetic parameters for quantitative traits: DAP and survival, will be obtained by REML / BLUP method (restricted maximum likelihood / best linear prediction untainted). The sex ratio among the trees of M. urundeuva with male and female flowering will be estimated based on the G-test. The effective population size will be obtained by the method that assumes the maternal gametic control, for dioecious species. In this way, intend to analyze how it should be done the selection of individuals within the progeny tests, considering a growth character: DAP and sex ratio, expressed within progenies, aiming its transformation into a orchards seeds per seedlings.
