Abstract

The project aims to analyze loving themed poems of the oeuvre A Paixão Medida by Carlos Drummond de Andrade. It will be studied the figures applied by Drummond, for the construction of love meaning expressed in his poems. The analysis of themes and figures will be based on the works of Platão and Fiorin, Alfredo Bosi, Roman Jakobson, Octavio Paz. A Paixão Medida is an oeuvre that presents formal variety, and in it we can find prose poems, sonnets and other free poetic forms in addition to varied themes and paradoxical title, thereby the interest of this research is to understand the aspect of this complex Drummond's oeuvre. The corpus of the research will be composed by seven (7) poems: "A Paixão Medida"; "A Festa no Mangue"; "Confronto"; "Declaração de amor"; "Nascer de Novo"; "O nome"; "História, Coração, Linguagem". The reading of Drummond's poetry reveals several kinds of love and several approaches for the theme. The research aims to understand the meanings and expressive forms that love theme takes on drummondiana poetic, specifically in the oeuvre A Paixão Medida. (AU)
