Abstract

Currently access to a cloud computing environment is provided on demand, where providers can deliver services in a transparent way to clients. Although the cloud provides an abstraction of infrastructure behavior (logical and physical) in the services providers, it is not always possible to offer services to clients where providers are able to appropriately fulfill service level agreements. To attain the contracts compliance, services providers need mechanisms involving load balancing algorithms, in order to provide the efficient load distribution to the available resources. However, the papers available in the literature do not address effectively the resource equation problem according to the client needs, because they consider mostly a limited set of objectives to be analyzed and met. In this context, the aim of this master project is developing and evaluating algorithms available in the literature that consider the combinatorial optimization and multiple objectives for the handling of resources on-the-fly, in order to optimize the efficient use of infrastructure and fulfill the SLA defined between the client and the provider.
