Abstract

The purpose of this research stage project abroad is to (i) discuss the theoretical possibilities of prosodization of prepositional clitics of Brazilian Portuguese into the prosodic hierarchy and, from the theoretical discussion, (ii) to elaborate a speech production experimental design that will support the formalization of prosodization to be made. The premise that sustains this proposal is that prepositional clitcs depend on the host in differents ways and, therefore, it could be prosodized in different prosodic constituents. The theoretical discussion, anchored in the framework of Prosodic Phonology (SELKIRK, 1984, 2004; NESPOR And VOGEL, 1986 [2007]), will focus on the debate on flexibility or violation of principles of good training of prosodic theory, once these themes underlie the construction of prosodic domains and the universal scope of the theory. The discussion is based on a set of spellings of hyposegmentation ("denovo" to "de novo") and hypersegmentation words ("de pois" to "depois"), which were taken from texts of "Banco de Dados de Escrita do Ensino Fundamental". The development of speech production experiment has the purpose of confirming, with acoustic data, the forms of prepositional clitics prosodization.
