Abstract

This Ph.D. dissertation will assess the impact of publicly funded research on innovation. The study will focus on the interface between research, technological advancement and innovation. Special emphasis will be placed on the role of R&D projects funded by recent programs for research, technological development and demonstration in the State of Sao Paulo in terms of promoting innovation.
