Abstract

This project was written with the purpose of applying for a grant for a period of research abroad as a visiting scholar at UNAM, Mexico City, from August 2016 to December 2016. The main goal is to study feminicides in Mexico, more specifically in relation to the novel 2666 by Roberto Bolaño. This research proposal wishes to better comprehend the constitution of the female body in biopolitical and necropolitical terms, which is to say as a body over which power and law are inscribed and through which power and law are reinforced within state and narco sovereignty. This proposal also suggests the importance of dissonant voices in creating and speculating readings of or answers to the feminicides and leaves space to accommodate other creative productions that have in any way attempted to deal with the issues of feminicide in Mexico.
