Abstract

The role of a natural preservative (pepper extract) on the properties of different wood species will be investigated. The woods after being modified with the preservative will be analyzed in their wettability characteristics, color changes and mass loss over time. From the results obtained, it will be assessed the best preparation methods for peppers extraction and how the characteristics of the woods may change with the presence of a surface preservative based on pepper extracts.
