Abstract

The aim of this project is the development and characterization of biomass briquettes for mushrooms cultivation. For this will be used the P. ostreatus species, popularly known as "Oyster Mushroom". The choice of this species is based in the fact that it is able to better supports the climatic conditions and seasonality of the west region of the São Paulo state, when compared to other fungal species. The briquette will be developed from sugarcane bagasse, currently regarded as the main Brazilian agricultural waste. The bagasse will acquired in partnership with regional sugar and alcohol plants. The experiment will be conducted under the system of "randomized block" in double factorial (humidity content vs pressures on the biomass). It will be performed the analysis of variance (ANOVA), with subsequent comparison of means by the Tukey test at 5% of significance level.
