Abstract

Man's relationship with the dog has been much studied, since this provides physiological and psychological benefits to man. The dog is considered a family member and gained even more importance due to the changes in the family structure. As a result of this new panorama, spent with these animals has increased significantly in recent years. In this context, biotechnology of reproduction has a key role to optimize the playback process, avoid risks to animals and so perpetuate the genetic material of high breeding value or affective.The sperm because they have reduced cytoplasm, where are the antioxidants, are very susceptible to oxidation that occurs in the mitochondria and produces reactive oxygen species (EROs). The EROs are very important for the acrosome reactions and connection to the pellucid zone, however when in excess cause damage to macromolecules. Soon, the study will be based on the use of uncouplers of the oxidative phosphorylation of mitochondria to observe whether will occur reduction of oxidative damage and thus increase the viability of sperm.
