Abstract

The proposed research aims to describe and analyze the experience of creation and accomplish of an unprecedented Brazilian TV series, called "UNIDADE BÁSICA". The series approach the reality lived in routines of a public primary care service in the suburb of São Paulo, through following cases of patients by doctors and family health teams. This study is intended to explore the potentialities and the limits engender by the dialogue between the references in the area of Collective Health and Communication in Health using the Mass Media. The research use qualitative methodology, with the researcher being an observador and participant on the condition of creator and producer of the referred series. It will be used as data sources official documents that stared the proposal of the series; , materials that had been produced by exploratory workshops about medical practices in Primary Care Services which were used as basis for done the script preparation; and also the audiovisual content produced at the end of the project. In addition to that, it will be done semi-structured interviews with key project stakeholders, such as the producer and writer of the series, and also with health workers and managers envolved in the process of construction the project. The material analysis will be done using the philosophical hermeneutics, looking for interpretative categories, through a dialogue between research, theory and empirical data collected, seeking a deeply comprehension of the senses and the meanings produced.
