Abstract The use of novel technologies or dental materials is justified when they present some advantage over their predecessors, whether by simplifying the manufacturing process, reducing cost or improving in their physical, optical and mechanical properties; factors that should culminate in satisfactory clinical performance. The aim of this study is to evaluate the influences of the material used and the fabrication's technology towards the internal and marginal adaptations of unit monolithic prosthetic crowns subjected to micro computed tomography (micro CT). Crowns will be fabricated using different materials and technologies, which will define two different groups: monolithic zirconia, monolithic lithium dissilicate. Twenty-one specimens of each group will be seated on the master die and scanned with light body polyvinyl siloxane representing the cement layer. This layer will undergo micro computed tomography and replica analysis in a stereomicroscope. Thickness and volume will be evaluated. | |
