Abstract

A fair city comprises the interaction of people with the built environment, so that its structure meets the various daily needs of its residents and residents without preconceived privileges, because the experience and use of cities are perceived in different ways for women and men. Urbanization has been associated historically with an expansion of socio-economic and political opportunities for women, which is why the issue of gender and urban prosperity emerges in the context of the city's celebration as wealth generating and welfare. However, this intersection of gender relations in urban space coexists with socio-spatial inequalities, referring often to marginalization and invisibility of women and their right to the city. In this sense, this research intends identifying the inclusion or not of gender issues in urban public policies implemented in the macro metropolis of São Paulo State, especially from the perspective of women. The analysis deals with the reality of variables related to: public space, participation, mobility, security, housing, urban equipment and services. Therefore, a documentary survey will be done for the period from 1990 to 2015. It is expected that the results allow a discussion on equity in gender relations and the need to transform cities into more egalitarian places. (AU)
