Abstract

Our study aims to understand the importance of The Festival of Notting Hill to the spread of Samba and Carioca Carnival in London and understand,as well, how this event makes it possible the creation of a new type of identity , outcome of connections between different cultures and modern migrations, within the point of view of Cultural Translation. In order to do that, we will work mostly with two Samba Schools which have several Brazilians as members : the London School of Samba and the Paraiso School of Samba.
