Abstract

Our research aims to analyze the political works of Gottfried Feder, a distinguished member of the Nazi Party in its early years before 1933. Special attention will be given in understanding how the concept of financial capital is used by the author in his writings vis-à-vis other German authors from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. By doing so, we wish to perceive different representations of the financial capital throughout time, as well as to understand how the attacks on high finances helped shaping the Nazi economic imaginary and why such attacks played such a major role in the early Nazi speech. The importance of this work relies in the fact that it proposes a cultural approach of the Economic History, introducing the notion of "imaginary". Moreover, we expect to broaden the horizons of the Conceptual History, dealing with economic rather than political or social concepts. This research on Feder's economic ideas is part of a larger research that aims to compare national-socialist ideas and concepts to those of Integralismo, a Brazilian fascist movement from the 1930's. We thus hope to contribute to future researches on the field of the Begriffsgeschichte that seek to compare the vocabulary of different fascist movements around the world in the interwar period.
