Abstract

This study assumes Militancy and Activism as strategies to produce groups engaged to social movements and able to stand for the material conditions to produce changes; it aims to develop a comparison between them. Activism and Militancy will be understood as institutions in French Institutional Analysis sense. They will be thought as operating logic permeating the social field and gain expression in different contexts. To characterize these institutions, we must explain: the historical context responsible for the creation of these strategies; the organization of resources and development of tactics for the production of engagement that the institutions operate; how they are updated for the practices of activists and militants; and modes of subjectivity arising from that place. The proposed study is anchored in the axis of qualitative and participatory research in the humanities; it works guided by the French Institutional Analysis; it will have cartographic inspiration; will make use of ethnographic data collection procedures; literature research and documental analysis and build content analysis starting from interpretive matrices fruits of collected data triangulation. The report of research will be done through an essay. To execution will demand to four stages. In the first, second and third, will use literature research, immersion in research groups that studies engagement process and promote a specialist pool debate . The fourth stage aims to produce a final text that will make up the doctoral thesis of the applicant
