Abstract

This proposal for a BEPE scholarship aims to complement work being carried out at the University of São Paulo for the postdoctoral project entitled Narrative Aspects of Herodotus' Genealogy-Making, sponsored by FAPESP (Process Number: 2016/02310-5). The proposal presents the objectives, working plan and timeline of activities to be developed by the candidate during a three-month period of research at the Institute of Classical Studies under the supervision of Dr Paola Ceccarelli, Lecturer in Classical Greek History in the Department of History at the University College London. Planned activities include: writing of the theoretical part of an article for publication; bibliographical research (mainly, but not only) at the library of the Institute of Classical Studies; supervision sessions with an expert in ancient historiography (Herodotus and fragments of the early Greek historians); and exchange of research experience in an international academic environment by taking part in seminars, conferences and other relevant scholarly events.
