Abstract

In the last decades, many countries have introduced Technology into the school curriculum. Most of them aims promote a Technology Education. However, it seems that transform Technology in knowledge to be taught is not easy. Some conceptions about Technology, like an Applied Science, for example, became real obstacles to its teaching, even in STS approaches. Difficulties to transpose knowledge of Technology to the scholar class can be another obstacle. The didactic transposition process applied to the Technology is quite different, comparing with other scholar disciplines. One possibility would assume the Technology Education as a Social Communication of Technology and see Technology as a process or, in this case, as a Technology Culture. Thus, this Project aims understand the concept of Technology Culture and identify it in the Brazilian textbooks. We will support our research on the concept of Technology Culture proposed by Miguel Quintanilla, as well his analysis methodology. To this end, we intend develop this Project at the University of Salamanca, at the Institute of Science and Technology Studies.
