Abstract

The aim is the study of public policy and institutional strategies of research, preservation, and dissemination of the natural and cultural heritage, increasingly articulated, since 1992, within the notion of Cultural Landscape in Israel. The focus is on practices of cooperation and sustainability strategic axes recommended by Agenda 21, which was the result of the United Nations Conference on Environment (Rio 92), and was reiterated in the Declaration "The Future We Want", from the The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD), also known as Rio 2012, or Rio+20, amongst other international documents. Knowledge of public policies, institutional strategies and innovative practices of cooperation and sustainability in Israel helps understanding the State's actions on environmental and cultural management, the participation of the public sector in the economy, the constant need to promote integration and social cohesion, the role of cultural diversity and of heritage institutions facing the fast social changes in this century. Similarly dynamic are the agro-ecological transformation processes of territories and industrialization, supported on technological modernization. In Israel the production of economic spaces and the construction of social memory reach investigative dimensions in order to understand the similarities and differences related to the social changes occurring in Brazil as a whole, and in the state of São Paulo in particular. This inventory of questions is linked to the institutional research project developed by the researcher at UNESP/Assis (SP) and proposed to FAPESP in 2016, within the Thematic Project line of promotion (in submission).
