Abstract

During aircraft developments engineers perform different cases of gust response analysis according to required by certification agencies. In recent projects, such as the Boeing 787 aircraft, have been included systems to aeroelastic response gust alleviation once these aerodynamic disturbances can compromise safety during flights and reduce the operational lifetime of aircraft. This is a relevant issue especially for the aerospace industry applications. In particular, this proposal is to study aeroelastic response for a 1-cosine discrete gust including magnetorheological damper (AMR) coupled. AMRs have been used for many applications involving energy dissipation, but also with few studies for aeroelastic systems including gusts. This research has the potential for technological contribution involving AMR in control surfaces of aircraft. (AU)
