Abstract

Various methods are currently used in order to predict shallow landslides within the catchment scale. Among them, physically based models present advantages associated with the physical description of processes by means of mathematical equations. The main objective of this research is the identification of susceptible areas using SHALSTAB model and geotechnical hydrological parameters distributed by System for Automated Geoscientific Analyses. It was selected a pilot catchment located at Serra do Mar mountain range, called Guarda-Mão and sited in Ribeira Iguape river valley, due to hundreds of landslides and major debris ows were generated during heavy rainfall on January 2014. The methods were divided into 3 steps: (a) Investigation the geotechnical, Cartographical and hydrological parameter; (B) Susceptibility maps by using SHALSTAB model/ and (c) estimate the sediment volume from the slopes that reach debris flows. The main products generated will be the susceptibility map of the shallow landslides using distributed values (ex. Cohesion) and the estimated of sediment volume that can reach the main drainage and increase transport and magnitude debris flow. (AU)
