Abstract

Following recent research focused on Brazilian Portuguese and its teaching as a foreign language in an international context, we aim to analyze the teaching materials collection Brasil Intercultural (Intercultural Brazil) and the website Portal de Professores de Português Língua Estrangeira (Portuguese as Foreign Language Teachers Portal) as linguistic tools that represent the building of two discursivizations: the "Latin American identity" and the "Lusophony". From a glotopolitical perspective, we will observe how linguistic ideologies set in public debates conflict in those materials, analyzing their implications in teaching and in the circulation of imaginaries about language and culture related to Brazil.
