Abstract

The present proposal is supposed to investigate the concept of the controversy in three theoretical lines of French thought: the sociology of action (founded by Luc Boltanski and the Groupe Sociologie politique et morale researchers); The controversies cartography (started by Bruno Latour and researchers at the MediaLab, at Sciences Po) and the sociology of the public and of mobilizations (developed by Daniel Cefaï and researchers of the Institut Marcel Mauss, at EHESS). The three lineages take the dispute process as privileged objects of research, thinking that the collective actions directs to the transformation of the social world. The objective of this project is to map the appropriations of this concept by each one of these approaches, analyzing the formulations and uses of the term for each of the theoretical lines, and identifying approaches and distances between them.
