Abstract The proposed research abroad (Rome, Italy), linked to the PhD project "Vade retro Satana: exorcism and possession in the Italian Catholic literature (1980-2013)", aims to give continuity to the PhD research in order to collect historical documents, bibliography and possible interviews with exorcist priests and fieldwork in the course offered at the Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum. We also intend to develop our work from meetings with the supervisor, Professor Dr. Verónica Roldán. The objective of the BEPE research links fully with PhD project in the country, as it aims to understand the return of the theme "exorcism and possession" in the Catholic Church in Italy, especially from the narrative productions of two Italian exorcists who worked in Rome in the second half of the twentieth century. In order to accomplish these goals, we intend to access the journals of Rome and Italy (secular and religious) available at Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma and research the ecclesiastical newspaper L'Osservatore Romano (Casanatense's Archive), all in the 1980-2013 period. The bibliographical research will occurs mainly in the library of the Gregorian University, the Roma Tre University and the National Library of Rome. We also propose the participation in the course Esorcismo e Preghiera di Liberazione in order to carry out an investigation in loco about the contemporary ecclesiastical discourse on the theme of our research, with possible interviews with the priests and theologians. | |
