Abstract

Pregnancy is a period of change in women's lives in which health education and new oral health care habits are very important. However, most pregnant women, influenced by fears, cultural beliefs and myths and even for lack of medical attention to the topic, looking for dental care only in emergency cases. In this study, by using existing secondary data, the goal will be to investigate the chief complaint of pregnant women (n=850) treated at the Preventive Clinic of Araraquara School of Dentistry (FOAr/UNESP) during 2000 to 2016, through the evaluation of their dental records. Data on pregnancy, sociodemographic questions, chief complaint, medical history and systemic condition, oral habits, oral health, access to dental and oral hygiene were recorded by students of the 3rd year of graduation and will be collected on dental records that are stored at the Screening, Documentation and Emergency Technical Section of FOAr. Data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics and association tests between the variables of interest. (AU)
