Changes of voice, orofacial myofunctional, speech and swallowing resulting from cancer treatment can negatively impact the quality of life in different levels. Understanding the sociodemographic and clinical aspects of a population diagnosed with tumors of the head and neck and verify the effectiveness of speech therapy can contribute to evidence-based practice. Objective: To characterize the sociodemographic and clinical profile of patients in treatment or treated for tumors of the head and neck, evaluated for speech therapy. Method: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study; the data will be analyzed in all patients evaluated in head and neck surgery clinic Speech Division of HCFMUSP during the period of one year. It will be elaborate a database for the purpose of research, under the responsibility coordinator of the research. Will be considered all the variables demographic and clinical listed in the following protocols that are part of the checklist of clinical assessment: 1) Screening and history of head and neck surgery, 2) Vocal assessment protocol, 3) Final and partial scores of the quality of life protocols (IDV-10, QVV, FACT-HN, Euroquol-5D). The data will be described by absolute numbers and percentages and statistical tests will be applied to be set to check for possible associations between variables. (AU)
