Abstract

Advanced Electrochemial Oxidation Processes (AEOP) are widely used for degradation of organic compounds from wastewaters. However, most of the studies are performed in electrochemical cells with small capacity. Therefore, the study of these processes in electrochemical flow reactor has great importance for water treatment. This work aims the degradation of the insecticide Esfenvalerate by AEOP using Gas Diffusion Electrode as cathode and Boron-Doped Diamond Electrode as anode in electrochemical flow reactor. First, the hydrogen peroxide electrogeneration will be studied in different current densities. The best condition to produce H2O2 in situ will be used in the degradation of the Esfenvalerate. Additionally, we will study the process coupled with UV radiation, Electro-Fenton and photo-Fenton processes. The kinect analysis of the degradation will be evaluated by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and the mineralization of the organic compound will be analyzed by the total organic carbon (TOC).
