Examines the architecture of the town worker of the Usina Monte Alegre and aspects of everyday life of its first residents. The village, located in the city of Piracicaba (SP), was built in the early 20th century during the management of the Italian Pedro Morganti, with skilled labor of their workers, mostly immigrants of Italian origin, who dominated the technique of brick masonry. The twentieth century witnessed its best moments, but also its decadence and its closure. The search will highlight the coming of Italian immigrants to Piracicaba and its contribution both in the organization of the Daily Worker of the Plant Monte Alegre, as in the spatial characteristics and architectural site. The methodology will be based on the analysis of data obtained from primary documentation and printed documents (newspapers, magazines, almanacs and photos from the first half of the 20th century), searches in public and private archives of the theoretical background in reference to the theme (whether books , Articles, scholarly works, etc., especially those dealing with English, Italian, and Brazilian working-class villages of the same period); Of the execution and analysis of metric and photographic survey of the remaining buildings; Collecting data through interviews, especially with people who have lived in the area or who have lived with former residents; As well as internet research, which lately has proved to be an excellent repository of material of all kinds.
