Abstract

The work of street sweepers is removing garbage and debris present on public roads. It is an activity performed under clear sky conditions, a fact that subject them to various types of attacks, such as the severe conditions climate, and many others. Presidente Prudente - SP is located in a climate zone characterized by high temperatures most of the year, and for this it is necessary to analyze the influence of these weather conditions on the health of the street sweepers. This theme is shortly discussed although very relevant, especially for evolved personnel who daily suffer the negative effects of such working conditions imposed on them. By means of bibliographic surveys, intra-urban temperatures analysis at the places where the activities are carried out, consultations to secondary data such as labor statistics and legal contents, and interviews with the different persons involved in the sweeping work are intended to understand the dimension of the framework of unhealthiness experienced by these workers daily. The reflections and results achieved should be used to outline mitigating measures as well as compensation possibilities. (AU)
