Abstract

This project is part of the research line in MINA Study that focuses on the mothers' lifestyles. It aims to investigate the food consumption of mothers living in Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre, according to the energy resulting from ultraprocessed foods, while also exploring the relation of such consumption with the eating practices discussed in the dietary Guidelines for the Brazilian population. This study will be composed of a quantitative phase followed by a qualitative phase, which will allow a deeper understanding of the studied phenomena and development of a conceptual explicative model. The results of the present work-plan will add to other MINA Study's contributions by advancing in the knowledge around alimentary changes in a nutritional and epidemiologic transition context, therefore strengthening the understanding of the maternal and child health determinants and collaborating to further intervention actions focusing on maternal and child health.
