Abstract

Despite of not being very abundant in the northern coast of São Paulo State, F. brasiliensis and F. paulensis (pink shrimps) are highly explored due their commercial value. The long-term analysis of a population population allows the identification of the absence or presence of variations in life-cycle, spatial-temporal distribution and population dynamics patterns. Thus, the objective of the present study is investigate the long-term variability of juveniles of pink shrimp Farfantepenaeus brasiliensis and F. paulensis and the population dynamics in the Ubatuba Bay. For this purpose, data will be collected from September 2016 to August 2017, in four sites, and then will be analyzed together with those previously collected in 1995/1996, 1998/1999, 2001/2003, 2006 / 2007 and 2013/2014, in the same sites, with the aid of a shrimp fishing boat with a 30 minute sampling effort / trawling. During the whole sampling period, the abiotic factors of temperature and salinity of the bottom and surface water, organic matter content and sediment granulometry were and will be monitored. The collected shrimp were and will be identified for the species, weighed (g), measured on carapace length (CCmm) and separated by sex. According to the obtained results, the statistical analyzes pertinent to each objective will be made, trying to interpret possible population variations in function of the environmental factors and fishing and also to evaluate the effectiveness of the defeso.
