Abstract

This project investigates the diverse relations established by the social movements of Salvador and intends to analyze political practices established between unequal groups that sometimes find equilibrium points, calculating the risks of a conflict, in others experiencing inescapable conflicts, often considered subversive. In seeking to understand how urban workers were an important element in calculating influential leaderships and political parties, in electoral periods or not, this project will examine their experience amidst the growing conflict involving the persecution of communists during the 1940s and 1960s. In the field of Social History of Labor, this project aims to overcome analyzes that disparage the actions of Salvador's subordinates and understand their internal demands and articulations, still attentive to class and race issues. The proposal is based on police sources, which will be checked against civil and labor judicial sources, as well as newspapers and union documents. (AU)
