The Essential Oils (EO) are aromatic oily liquids that have as the main attribute the concentrate aroma of the plant which was obtained. It has a great socioeconomic importance, due to their use in industries for the manufacture of fragrances, perfumes, foods and household cleaning products. Brazil produces high amounts of EO due to the large production of citric fruits in the country. The citric production is destined mainly for the juice production, since EO are by-products of high added value by the citrus industry. Researches in genetic improvement of citrus produce new hybrids in order to increase resistance of pathogens and increase the juice production. However, this new hybrids can present different chemical composition from their parents, and that can cause an increase or a decrease in the price of their EO on the market. By the exposed, this present research project was elaborate to know the chemical composition of EO of the hybrids and their parents, obtained by crossing tangerines, in order to know what specie can provide a better commercial value.
