Abstract Constrained networks devices are subjected to low energy availability and are not able to execute intensive processing activities, thus data routing is a challenging problem in this context. In addition, real-life radio transceivers are not isotropic, causing the links to be asymmetric or unidirectional. Nonetheless, routing protocols usually do not take this into account. Our hypothesis is that Software Defined Networks can be used to efficiently perform routing in such networks. In order to do so, auxiliary protocols that support these topologies and devices are necessary, for instance, an energy efficient neighbor discovery protocol. Moreover, long range unidirectional links could be used for controller-to-node communication. Our solution should be analysed in a simulated environment in order to allow precise topology control. Further, we intend to perform experiments with real devices. Metrics of interest are packet delivery ratio and control overhead (AU) | |
