Abstract

The production of microbial enzymes with desired characteristics is relatively easy, has an attractive economic aspect, and fits in the context of the use of agro-industrial residues in bioprocesses. Thus, the present project aims to optimize and validate the impact of the solid substrate mixture of wheat bran, sugarcane bagasse and cassava bagasse on the production of 5'-phosphodiesterase from Rhizopus oligosporus CCT 3762 and Aspergillus niger CCT 3312 in solid state fermentation. An I-Optimal design will be performed to obtain the experimental matrix and a series of solid-state fermentations will be performed in order to obtain the enzymatic extract. The enzymatic activity of 5'-phosphodiesterase from each extract will be determined by spectrophotometry and the results will be used to estimate and validate the optimum medium composition that yields the best results for the enzymatic production. Finally, an economic analysis will be performed to compare the cost of the optimized culture medium from the methodology developed in this project with other culture media described in the literature.
