Abstract

The planning of instructional programs in verbal behavior requires knowing what conditions an acquisition of the listener and speaker repertoires can be optimized, as well as the effects of teaching procedures on the refinement of these repertoires. The objective of the present study is to establish, through teaching by single (SEI) and multiple exemplars (MEI), listener behavior (selection) and speaker behavior (tact and echoic) with nouns. Four children will participate, two with diagnosis of Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder (DENA) and two with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). There will be three pre-tests of the listener and speaker repertoires (tact and echoic); Then the participants will pass through the teaching of selection to a set of stimuli, followed by a test for verbal operants not taught directly (echoic and tact) to the same set; MEI teaching will be performed for a second set of stimuli and the same verbal operants will be assessed for the first set (echoic and tact); Lastly will be taught selection for a third set of stimuli and be tested the operant verbal not taught directly (echoic and tact) to the third set. The results consistent with the predicted will demonstrate if, after teaching by MEI, only the training of listener is able to generate the speaker repertory. (AU)
