Abstract

The affinitiy of Michel Foucault with the history is reiterated several times throughout his intellectual trajectory. This relationship may be comprised as from two different aspects that cross each other: a critical thinking about the present, understood from a concept of Historical Ontology and an empirical-descriptive method of writing responsible for sustain his works as Historical Fictions. The aim of this research is not just explore the composition among each one of these aspects but also the mutual relationships established between them. It sustains, thus, the argument that the dialogs established by Foucault with the critical thought of Immanuel Kant and the Friedrich Nietzsche's genealogical method contributes to the invention of his own idea of history. For this, using as sources the thinking in which Foucault highlights his proximity with those authors, the thesis will be unfold in two movements: at first, it seeks to pursue the field of problems that each one of these relationships allows to scan and then, from the elements detected, to evidence the existent correlation between think and write history in the Foucault's thinking. It expects that with this to produce a number of questions that could be, by extension, to bring a reasonable contribution to the contemporary historical knowledge mainly with the theoretical discussions that reach the writing process of history and the subject's position occupied in this process.
