Abstract

The current research project intends to make a study about the mexican history between the 1950's and 1960's, focusing on the analysis of the uses of memory on the consolidation of a specific State project and the establishment of certain political dynamics which guaranteed the maintenance of the same party since a bureaucratic elite of the Mexican Revolution was formed - passing by the time in question, to the year 2000, when it lost the elections for the opposition party - versus the questioning of the official history as an instrument of hegemony and legimacy of this political configuration, which was done by the writer Elena Garro, who played an important role when, using the ficcion, reconstructed hiden narratives and to bring to light forgotten characters of the revolutionary past, as the General Felipe Ángeles, whose prison and death is related on her theatre play, Felipe Ángeles.Conecting History and Literature, this research intends to look attentively to the work of Garro to understand the conflicts and the disputes around the mexican State at mid 20th century and the role of representations and images of the past in the argumentation and actions of the individuals involved on them.
