Abstract

Sporotrichosis is an emerging mycosis that can affect the subcutaneous tissue, lymphatic system and other organs in humans and animals. It is a disease caused by a complex of at least four species and one of them is S. brasiliensis. Some fungi are able to release extracellular vesicles (VEs) that influence the immune response of the host. Macrophages are important phagocytic cells, therefore, study their interaction with these VEs of S brasiliensis contribute to understanding the pathogenesis of the disease, to seek new forms of therapy and diagnosis.
